POST 1 - OUR PRACTICE TASK

Our group: Luke Marchant and Jack Kirby - had to pull a nursery rhyme and a question randomly out of a hat. From the hat we pulled out Humpty Dumpty as the nursery rhyme and our question was 'What superpower would you have?'. Our task is to use these 2 stimuli to create a music video.

The group came to the decision that we are going to use Wonderwall by Oasis. We believe this song will be great to use for our music video because it is a good pace so the video will look good while flowing well and represents our 2 stimuli extremely well.

The fact that this song is about heartbreak links well with the fact that humpty dumpty also gets hurt but in a more physical way. However, by the end of the song they get back together with the lyrics 'you're gonna be the one that saves me'. We can use this as the superpower - the ability to save people.

We do have other potential song choices that we thought could work or make a good video but we agreed that the song above will be most effective.

Coldplay - Fix you,

We thought of this song as a potential due to the fact that it is about fixing someone that has a problem ( just like humpty dumpty ). However, we believe this song is too slow for our liking and wouldn't be as effective for our music video.

 

 

Rudimental - Not giving in,

We considered this as an option to use as our video as we believed we could make a good video out of it as it gives you a lot of ideas and is a good pace; we think that this song does not link to our stimuli as well as the chosen song, as a result we will not be using this.
